Winter tasks
(February 16, 2010)We have a heavy clay soil on the farm. Here is a winter project that is well under way. The area has a 'wet spot' and needs draining, or no crop will grow there.
In the 'olden days' such drainage jobs were done by hand with special draining spades. Today the digger does most of the work, but some of the old tools are still used to complete the job.
